Galician National Nature Park

The park is located on the border of two physico-geographical lines: Ukrainian Carpathians (Precarpathian area) and south-western part of the East European Plain (area of Opole South-western Ukrainian Province of forest-steppe zone).Great landscape and biological diversity is typical for this territory due to location. Among the flora and fauna representatives there are species of both Podillya and Carpathians. There are 45 plant species and 37 animal species inhabited on the territory of the park that are included to the Red Book of Ukraine, 4 and 9 respectively – from the European Red List and 6 species of plants and 158 animal species protected by the Berne Convention. The park has more than 40 natural systems and facilities (forest tracts covering about 11 000 ha of wetland complexes – 2,550 hectares of meadow and steppe areas and geological formations), which have a scientific, environmental and recreational value. Hiking trails and eco-educational paths are paved in the most interesting parts of the park.
