According to a resolution of the local district council in 1991 the sight was marked by a granite sighn. These its geographical coordinates are: 48* 21'north latitude and 31* 10' east longitude.
After numerous scientific debate and controversy, August 24, 2002 a monument was set here. It also is made of granite, but unlike the mark its size about 3 meters. A metal plate with the inscription and the emblem of Ukraine is on its top.
However, after the new mapping studies in 2005 a new central point of Ukraine was established – the area near the town of Cherkassy
