St. George's Church was built according to I.Freyvald's project, during 1809-1819 yy. in a classical style.
The main facade of the church is facing the Dnister river. Even before the church's construction began, there was issued the synodal decree, banning the construction of temples in malorussian style (three peaked church) in the Russian Empire. Yet St. George's Church was built after the forementioned decree and its architecture follows the traditional features of Ukrainian folk wooden structure.
