Ukrainian natural reserve of Ukraine is located within the Cherkassy region, near the town of Kaniv, on the right bank of the Dnipro islands and floodplain.
It borders directly with Chernecha mountain - the burial place of Shevchenko.
Area 2,027 hectares. Established July 30, 1923 at the Kanev Education and Research Forest. Is a subdivision of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
Key features of the reserve - the protection of standard and unique natural forest systems, biodiversity, monitoring the changing natural processes.
