The Poltava Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Poltava Regional Council has a deep history of creative development and formation in the field of symphonic music of Ukraine.
The ensemble began its creative activity in 2000 at the Poltava Regional Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater named after MV Gogol, as a creative unit of the theater.
Since 2016, the orchestra has been operating as an independent concert organization, equipped with its own concert hall for concerts and rehearsals. The room is equipped with modern sound and lighting equipment.
The main conductor and ideological founder of the Poltava Symphony Orchestra is the People's Artist of Ukraine Vitaliy Mykhailovych Skakun.
