Museum of Medicinal Plants and Carpathian Herbalism

0 2 0

This land was once the bottom of the mighty Tethys Ocean, which surged here over 25 million years ago, while the Chyvchyn Mountains rose above its waves.

The museum exhibition allows visitors to embark on a journey through the history of Earth's formation in a short time. It begins with a hall dedicated to the Tethys Ocean, dating back 25 million years. A highlight of the exhibit is a 1-kilogram Carpathian meteorite, discovered in the Marmarosh crystalline massif near the Yavirnyk Ridge.

A special place is given to the hall devoted to the magic of plants and molfarstvo—an ancient Carpathian tradition of sorcery. Here, visitors can see mystical artifacts: an old book, a magical crystal ball, pendulums, a "wishing chair," love potions, roots of the Carpathian spirits, and protective charms.

At the center of the hall is an ornamental wreath made of Carpathian plants, symbolizing well-being and eternity. The plants are woven in such a way as to symbolically reflect the human body—each one "corresponds" to a specific organ or body part, from head to toe, and possesses healing properties.

In the tasting room, visitors can explore unique herbariums of medicinal plants, books by all Ukrainian herbalists, and the largest collection of literature on medicine, botany, and natural sciences. Here, one can sample aromatic teas, jams, and other treats, as well as purchase products from local producers.
