The museum is located in a pavilion built over the remains of a unique archaeological site – the Cathedral of the Archangel Michael of the XI century.
The main objects of the exhibition are foundations, partially preserved walls and structural details of the north-western part of the church. It presents excavation materials, drawings, graphic reconstructions of Pereyaslav archaeological monuments, which are dated 11th-12th centuries.
