The monument to Bohdan Khmelnitsky was established for the 400th anniversary of the birth of the hetman in the Metallurgists' Park in 1995, on the street bearing the name of the hetman. Bohdan-Zinovy Mikhailovich Khmelnitsky is the hetman of the glorious Army of Zaporizhzhia Nizove, commander and statesman, organizer of the War of Liberation against the Commonwealth. Bohdan Khmelnitsky – the person is legendary and contradictory. But in one thing all agree – this is really a great statesman who laid down his life for the Faith and the Motherland, as it is supposed to be a real Cossack. The monument is located in front of the central entrance to the Metallurgists' Park. Nearby is the famous Zaporizhzhia stadium «Slavutich-Arena» and one of the most famous monuments of the city – Dniproges.
