Old names - Park of 50th anniversary of Soviet power, Park of 50 October anniversary, Jubilee park.
The park was founded in 1967. The authors of the project were the architects G. Ursatiy and V. Pastukhov.
It was established within the Cherkasy relict forest. Terrace, which breaks the Dnieper steep ledges and canyon which enriched natural terrain were unique natural wonder.
There were boulders, granite boulders, pebbles brought from the mouth of Rus and Crimea pits, built artificial lakes and waterfalls, streams laid. Flora of the park, which is more than 70 species of exotic plants, was enriched by seedlings from Trostianets dendropark, Kiev botanical garden, "Sofiyivka" and many other places.
In 1980 the park was awarded a gold medal and was brought into the International Directory parks.
The main element compositions in the park is considered sculpture of Mermaid.
The park has an arched bridge that city residents called the "Bridge of Love". Built in 1968. It is situated a few hundred meters from the Dnieper, over the ravine between the park area.
In 2016 the park was renamed the park "Sosnoviy bir"
Currently, the park is a pearl of the city and a favorite leisure place of its inhabitants.
