The cloister was founded in May 1889 by Grand Duchess Alexandra Romanova, and people used to call it “The Duchess’ Convent”. But already in June it was named the Convent of the Virgin Protectress by decision of the Sacred Synod.
The dominant point of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra is the Dormition Cathedral.
The Temple was built in the XVIII century with the funds of the countess-philanthropist Branytska who gave a vow to build 12 Orthodox churches.
The temple, erected in 1903-1906, is famous for its architectural style, which completely does not correspond to the Orthodox church canons.
The Alexandria Dendrological Park of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is located on the outskirts of Bila Tserkva, near the river Ros. The park is one of the largest parks in Ukraine and has a territory of 400 hectares. It was created more than 200 years ago by the family of the landowner, Count Francis Xavier Branicki, as an object of family pride and magnate magnum.
The museum is dedicated to the life and work of the outstanding Ukrainian singer Ivan Semenovich Kozlovsky.
