Zaporizhzhia Oblast
Zaporizhzhia Oblast is a region in southeastern Ukraine located along the Dnipro River and the Sea of Azov coast. It is known for its Cossack heritage, especially Khortytsia Island, as well as its strong industrial base and energy infrastructure.
Zaporizʹka Sich is the capital of the Cossack lands, the heart of the lower knighthood and the center of the Cossack liberties that existed beyond the Dnipro rapids from the middle of the 16th century until 1775.
This great stone hill in the steppe attracted primordial people as a shelter, and as a unusual phenomenon as well.
