Archaic Wind Mill

Such mills did not have carved ornaments or porches. The master who built a windmill is Czech Ivan Klichnik. It belongs to the pillar mills. The walls are vertical, frame structure, lined with boards to the very bottom. From the four corners, the windmill rests on the pads.

The whole carcass of the windmill together with the mechanism for grinding, wings and shaft rotates depending on the wind. In the centre of the fixed crosspiece, a pillar is fixed, the so-called shtyber. This is the backbone of the windmill. The whole system revolves around it.

In this village regularly hosts the festival “Krasnosilski windmills”. It is a holiday of folk art, history and life, which is visited by tourists Rivne and other regions. The festival is held annually in September to revive and popularize folk traditions, holidays and ceremonies, attract children and youth to folk art.

The program of the festival includes performances of amateur groups of Rivne region, competition for the best representation of rural and village communities, Cossack game, comic lottery, masterclasses and exhibition of crafts masters of decorative and applied arts, treats with traditional Krasnosilsky pies and a real Cossack kulish(thick millet soup), a tour of the Krasnosilsky windmill which is a monument of cultural heritage.
