In honor of Tарас, the scout troops "Black Sea" and "Black Sea Waves" fulfilled his last wish — to build a mountain tourist shelter on Mount Paraska (Skole Beskydy, Lviv Region), open to travelers.
The construction project of this shelter is of great significance not only as the fulfillment of Tарас' last wish but also as the embodiment of his life principles. The shelter was created to inspire people to be self-sufficient and lead a free life they desire. It is also a way to share Tарас' love and admiration for the starry sky.
In addition, the shelter will become an important link in the development of astronomical tourism in the Skole Beskydy. Thanks to cooperation with the Lviv Astronomical Society, the concept of the "Dark Sky Park" will be implemented starting in 2024, allowing visitors to explore the starry sky in high-mountain conditions.
This project is not only a tribute to Tарас Gаврилишин but also aims to unite the natural beauty of the mountains, the endless starry sky, and the ideals of free living that he aspired to.
