Scenic granite canyon located on the mountain river Tikych is on of the hundred most beautiful places in Ukraine. Buky canyon is 800 m below the dam of a former Butskyi HPP, which is the original rocky coast with gray granite rocks about 30 meters. The length of the canyon is about 2.5 km, width - 80 m. The 80 hectares area is subject to environmental measures.Since May 1975 this place has a status of state nature heritage of local importance. Rocks are aging over 2 billion years and in some places 3.2 billion years, which is one of the oldest in the world. Here dozens of anthropogenic and zoomorphic rocks, the so-called "Ukrainian Stonehenge" and Cossack fortress are located. A loud waterfall Vir and a large water mill are located by the river of Buky canyon. Boat riding and rock climbing are available for tourists.
