Archaeological research confirms that in this area there was a then political, economic and cultural center of the ancient pre-state formation of the tribes of the Dnieper forest-steppe. The settlement is identified by scientists with the famous city of Gelon. The ancient Greek historian Herodotus also mentions him in his works.
