About the location

The building, where for 12 years Ivan Franko lived in the summer with his family, now houses the museum of the famous poet and public activist.

The house belonged to a local woodcarver Vasyl Yakibyuk. In the years that Ivan Franko spent in Kryvorivnya he wrote the novel "The Big Noise", an autobiographical story "In the forge," and many others. In 1960, with the assistance of Platonide Vladimirovna Khotkevich and rector of Lviv University Evgena Lazarenko literary-memorial museum of Ivan Franko was created in this house.
