The City Garden

0 1 0

Swans, incredible species of fish, a beautiful gazebo, playground. In summer, kids play on the green grass; lovers take pictures in the gazebo; someone feeds ducks, swans, small turtles and goldfish

The history of this place dates back to the 70s of the 18th century. On the eve of the arrival of Empress Catherine II, Prince Grigory Potemkin decided to green the city and create a special park. By the way, the first fountain of Kremenchuk appeared here.

In 1817, Emperor Alexander I came to Kremenchuk, he knew about our city from his grandmother.

Before the First World War, the park was actively developing again: a new summer playground, several cafes, a cinema and the first fountain. During the war, there was a military hospital.

In 1924, the City Garden became the Railway Park. In 1993, the park and the adjacent body of water were given the status of a natural monument of local significance, and in 1997 it was renamed the City Garden.

The modern restoration of the City Garden began during the time of Mayor Oleg Babayev.
