About the location

Оne of the most remarkable buildings of the city — the National Philharmonic Society which formerly was the Merchants’ Assembly, (1898, architect V.Nikolaev).

The building also houses the concert hall — the M.Lysenko Hall of Columns — famous for its acoustics. Once, from this place down to the Podil area, the first in Russia and second in Europe (after Berlin) electric tram was running.
