National Park "Verkhovyna"

It was created in 2010 in order to preserve natural complexes and Chyvchyno-Hrynyavsky mountains. The land area is 12 022.9 ha. The national park has many outstanding natural features: cavil Lostun, the largest dam with gateway in the Carpathians, on the river Black Cheremosh remained until now. It is situated at an altitude of 1160 m. and used to be the most advanced engineering structure at the time when rafting forest was carried within Cheremosh. The peculiarity of this cavil was the distribution of accumulated water at once into two valleys: Black Cheremosh and Lostun. An interesting object of nature is a group of rocks – "Stone women" They are composed of limestones from the Triassic period. In the mountain valley "Preluchnyy" we can see fields of deposits of rhodonite. There are mineral springs, including Burkut, on the territory of the park – the oldest Polish balneological health resort. The places of rare plants growth are also interesting. The valleys have magnificent landscapes.
