Novoslobidski oaks

The flora of the territory is represented primarily by oaks and maples. In the "Monastery forest", trees` age reaches on average 80-90 years, but in "Novoslobidski oaks", certain trees have a more respectable age – up to 450 years. Among other vegetation there are ash, linden, elm, as well as bushes of hazel, spindle and hawthorn. In spring, one can see rare plants: a Siberian snowdrop and an anemone buttercup.

Traditionally for the protected area, many species of plants here are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine, for example, bear onions. Wild boars, that are abundant in these forests, like eating bear onions. Besides boars, graceful roe deer, foxes, hares and moles, as well as many birds and insects, in particular robin, finch, corncrake, are found here. The latter is protected by the European Red Book.
