The pond was created in a small river Sukha using artificial dam. Distance from Kirovohrad to Salt Lake is about 85 km. The water in the lake is very salty, with blue clay at the bottom. The salinity of the lake is explained by there being a northern boundary of the ancient sea. As for the blue clay, it can cure skin diseases, diseases of the joints and bones. The lake is overgrown with reeds, but there are stairs and a concrete slab for water procedures.
