Statue of Jesus (Truskavets)

0 2 0

Erected in 2020 on Mount Hoshivska, it stands at the highest point of Truskavets, near the railway station, symbolically extending its arms over the city.

The total height of the architectural composition is 12 meters: 3 meters for the pedestal and 9.17 meters for the statue itself. The structure weighs over 50 tons. It is a nearly exact scaled-down replica of the world-famous Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

A biblical verse is inscribed on the pedestal:
“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:29), adding a deeper spiritual meaning to this place of peace and reflection.

Surrounding the statue is a viewing platform with benches and decorative landscaping. From here, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Truskavets and its surroundings. Along the platform, there is a photo wall illustrating different stages of the statue's construction.

The sculptor is Ivan Bondarchuk, and the project was initiated and funded by local businessman and public figure Ihor Kisak.

This site has become not only a popular tourist attraction but also a symbol of faith, peace, and hope for both residents and visitors of the resort town of Truskavets.
