St. Nicholas Cathedral

0 2 0

A monument that remained almost intact during World War II, when 97% of Kremenchuk was destroyed.

St. Nicholas Cathedral in Kremenchuk is an ancient and historic church. In pre-revolutionary times, the temple building was used in different ways: the Rest House, the Officers' House, the cinema, the Children's and Youth Sports School.

Since 1991, by the decision of the local authorities, the church building has been transferred to the St. Nicholas religious community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. So then church songs were heard again under the arches of the temple and a prayer to the Lord was offered.

For more than two decades, the Orthodox Cathedral was rebuilt by the efforts of the faithful. Carved iconostasis, fascinating wall decoration and real masterpieces of icon painting by the best masters.
