The design and construction supervision was entrusted to the experienced architect V.V. Velichko, who lived on the same street in his own house and was associated with the Ryzhovs through the construction of the St. Petersburg International Bank building. The construction of the mansion was completed in 1912 and, as the old-timers said, the new home was celebrated with a magnificent ball on the occasion of the birthday of P.P. Ryzhov's wife, Valeria Alexandrovna Ryzhova, in whose name he recorded the house as a birthday present.
