Taras Shevchenko Central park of culture and rest (known as Potemkin Garden until 1925) is the central and oldest park in Dnipro. The park consists of the mainland and its part on the Monastery Island.
It is divided into coastal and insular parts. Coastal part includes Summer Theater, Student's Palace (former Potemkin Palace), several playgrounds.
The pedestrian bridge and the cable tramway lead on the island. The cable tramway works in the summer only, from 8 AM to 8 PM.
On the island, there are Aquarium of freshwater fish, attractions, several water sports clubs and bases where you can rent a boat. In the lower part of the island there are beaches.
