It is a picturesque place exposing the Ukrainian nature, architecture, and lifestyle that were typical of Dnieper River region.

In the centre of the architectural ensemble numbering 98 structures is a three-domed timber Cossack Church in the name of St. Mary the Protectress, Not far from the church, amidst the small wheat field, stands a windmill. Farther on, around the two lakes overgrown with rush and water-lilies, are farmsteads that belonged to the churchwarden, Cossack orderlies and chiefs, as well as a smithy, a pottery workshop, a sorceress’ house, a tavern of a Jew-merchant, an apiary, and a water-mill. The farmsteads include all kinds of out-door household structures: granaries, sheds, stalls, threshing barns, cart-sheds, etc. This traditional Ukrainian landscape is supplemented with a market square, administration, and Cossack garrison.
