About the location

Traditional Hutsul house is a complex of buildings with solid external walls that surround a small courtyard.

One of the few surviving houses has been converted into a museum "Home-Grazhda." Since 1858, this house defended Kharuk family from the weather, wild animals and enemies. A frequent guest of the family was Ivan Franko, Mikhailo Kotsiubynsky and Vladimir Hnatjuk. The house was used for the filming of "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" in 1964, but since 1984 stood empty. Only after the First World Congress of Hutsul people in 1993 it was rebuilt and transformed into a museum.
