Mykhailyvska tsilyna natural reserve

0 2 0

How did it happen that the vast areas were not developed for agriculture? The matter is that since 1741 the lands belonged to Count Kapnist, horse breeder, and pedigree trotters grazed the boundless meadows. With the advent of Soviet power, the land became state-owned, and in 1928 the reserve "Mykhailyvska tsilyna" was formally established.

Over a vast area, there are more than 500 types of herbs, including medicinal herbs. Some of them are on the brink of extinction and are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. The air here is incredibly clean, filled with the scents of flowers. Ideal natural conditions contribute to the population of wild animals: foxes, hare-hare and small rodents. There are also moose, boars and wolves.

Interestingly: since the flowering period for different herbs is different, the reserve changes its "color" about 10 times.

To date, the Lebedinsky Museum of Local History organizes one-day excursions around the reserve. In the near future, it is planned to develop large-scale hiking trails and develop green tourism in the region.
