It is a permanent gastronomic and cultural project of the Museum of Ideas (museum of modern art and sculpture). There is no sign, so you need to look for a restaurant. On the menu guests will find such dishes as “monasterial soup”, onion pie with melted cheese, banush, bograch, pork ribs with honey, lamb in pomegranate sauce, pear in wine and various fruit liqueurs. The restaurant has tables both for large companies and only for two people.
The interior corresponds to the spirit of the Middle Ages. Here are vaulted ceilings, rough plank walls, massive tables with linen tablecloths, dim atmosphere (kerosene lamps are lit on the tables). Musical accompaniment is unobtrusive in the refectory (retro tango, choral recording of the monks’ choir). Meals are served in earthenware pots, and as a souvenir you can buy handmade glass articles.
