According to legend, he made a bet that he could build an edifice on the steep slope; and he won it due to a brilliant engineering solution. The building has three storeys facing the street, and six – the slope. Its exterior is decorated with figures of elephants, rhinos, antelopes, lizards, frogs, mermaids and other creatures. They all were made of cement by sculptor Elio Sala from Milan, Italy. Such decor can be explained by Horodecki’s passion to hunting.
