St. Michael's Church (Episcopal Court)

0 1 0

The St. Michael Church was rebuilt by colonel F. Loboda in 1646-66. It is located on the site of the destroyed by the Mongols Mikhailovsky Cathedral, dated XI century, in which the Pereyaslav's knyazs were buried.

The outlines of the ruined church are lined with stone along the perimeter of the church, and original foundations can be seen in the pavilion of the Pereyaslav museum of architecture . On the territory of the monastery there is a memorial sign in honor of the ancient Russian chronicler Sylvester, one of the authors of the Primary Chronicle.
